Remote Play

Outsmarted's Remote Play capabilities open up a new world of board game entertainment - play with friends & family wherever they are in the world!

There are three alternative ways to play remotely, here is a quick run down of those options:

1) You own the game, the remote players / teams also own the game

In this case all parties can use their physical board to move their genius characters around their board. With the latest version of the Outsmarted app players in all locations can even communicate with each other inside the app using the built in chat facility.

(** Voice-chat is only available in version 1.3 of the Outsmarted app or later, please download the latest version of the app to enable this feature)

The only limitations are those of a standard game - you can have a maximum of 6 players or 6 teams (of up to 4 players per team). In other words with Remote Play you can play against six other players / teams, each in completely different locations if you wish.

2) You own the game, the remote players / teams do not own the game AND you wish to connect with the remote players via Zoom or similar video conferencing software during the game

This works in the same way as above, except that that the remote players / teams do not have a physical board and must view the board using video, instructing the host to move their character to their selected space on the physical board on their turns.

The remote players use the virtual in-app dice on their turns.

3) You own the game, the remote players / teams do not own the game AND you do not wish to use video conferencing software

In this case, the remote players all use a virtual version of the physical board, available to them during their turn. They can then communicate their chosen position to the host using the built in voice-chat facility within the app.

(** Voice-chat and the virtual representation of the board are only available in version 1.3 of the Outsmarted app or later, please download the latest version of the app to enable)
